(PatriotsUnited.org) – Mere hours after President Joe Biden said he would no longer seek reelection, his son Hunter Biden walked back his lawsuit against Fox News. The case was filed in June and focused on claims the news channel had included explicit images of the younger Biden in a drama series, without the latter’s permission.
The action accused Fox News’ 2022 series “The Trial of Hunter Biden,” of illegally displaying such images. The six-episode miniseries was broadcast via the Fox Nation streaming platform. The plot covered a fictionalized trial focused on Hunter Biden’s foreign financial links which prompted his real-life federal tax indictment. Hunter Biden’s legal team has not yet publicly commented on the matter, and nor has Fox News.
The timing of this shock withdrawal has raised more than a few eyebrows in Washington, given its proximity to President Biden’s statement. The President, who recently tested positive for Covid, is yet to make a public appearance to discuss the matter. Fox previously complained that the lawsuit was politically partisan while Biden cited rules in New York over “revenge” adult content, usually used to prosecute people who illegally disseminate explicit content of ex-partners.
The miniseries had been scrapped from Fox’s platforms back in April after the presidential son had initially threatened legal action. Some commentators speculate that it was not only Biden’s health issues that prompted his withdrawal from November’s race, but his son’s embarrassing flurry of legal issues. Hunter has ties to businesses in China and Ukraine which he allegedly obtained using his influence with his father. Hunter recently had his license to practice law suspended in Washington D.C. He is currently based in California.
The 54-year-old is the son of Biden’s first wife who passed away after obtaining injuries in a tragic car collision in 1972 in which his one-year-old sister Naomi also passed away. He has admitted to having suffered from addiction to alcohol and drugs.
