King Charles Sends Trump Letter In Wake Of Assassination Attempt

(PatriotsUnited.org) – The British monarch has communicated with former President Donald Trump after the latter’s assassination attempt last Saturday at a Pennsylvania rally. King Charles III forwarded a personal letter to Trump via the U.K.’s U.S. embassy. The contents of the letter have not been made public. British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has also expressed his sympathies over the incident, stressing that political violence is unacceptable.

The incident occurred when Trump addressed supporters at the Butler Farm Show grounds over the weekend. The 20-year-old assailant fired at Trump from a rooftop some 130 yards away. Secret Service agents neutralized the shooter. A 50-year-old ex-firefighter passed away and two people were injured. Trump told the press that the physician who examined him following the incident said that moving his head slightly had probably spared his life and termed it a “miracle” and that he was “supposed to be dead”.

As Trump continues his campaign for the upcoming presidential election against President Joe Biden, the incident has cast a shadow over his rallies. Despite the scare, Trump remains focused on his political ambitions. Notably, Trump has taken a firm stance on issues involving members of the British royal family. Earlier this year, he suggested that Prince Harry, who admitted to drug use in his 2023 memoir, should not have “special privileges” and might face deportation if it is found he lied on his US visa application. “We’ll have to see if they know something about the drugs, and if he lied, they’ll have to take appropriate action,” Trump said in an interview.

King Charles, who is estranged from Harry, has not commented on Trump’s position regarding his son. The relationship between Trump and the British monarchy has seen its share of formal interactions. In 2019, Charles, then-Prince of Wales, hosted Trump and his wife, Melania, for tea at Clarence House, and the late Queen Elizabeth II held a state banquet in their honor. Following Queen Elizabeth’s death in September 2022, Trump praised her legacy, stating, “Her leadership and enduring diplomacy secured and advanced alliances with the United States and countries around the world.”
