Trump Slammed For Death Penalty Comments

(PatriotsUnited.org) – Former Trump-era White House deputy press secretary Sarah Matthews turned MSNBC host has slammed the former president’s recent remarks on President Joe Biden made at the National Rifle Association (NRA) Convention in Dallas, Texas. She has previously criticized her ex-boss and publicly admitted she would not be voting for him in future.

Throughout his keynote address to the pro-MAGA, gun rights group, Trump made controversial comments suggesting that Biden would have faced execution via electric chair if he had been a Republican Trump’s inflammatory speech also included a description of Biden as a “Manchurian candidate” in a nod to claims of his pro-China stance and links to overseas business.

Congressional probes into claims Biden benefited from his son Hunter’s foreign business dealings with Ukraine and China are ongoing. While GOP Representatives Jim Jordan and James Comer have reiterated these unverified claims, the White House has completely rejected any claims of impropriety, slating the investigations as hollow political machinations.

Andrei Piontkovsky, an outspoken critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin, said earlier in 2024 that a Trump return to the Oval Office could result in major risks to the United States and its allies, especially amid continued debates over U.S. funding for Ukraine’s defense against Moscow’s invasion.

Matthews vehemently slated Trump’s rhetoric, claiming he had been using it to manipulate supporters and provoking intense reactions by making light of serious issues. Ex-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC), Michael Steele, also questioned what Trump had meant by the remarks, suggesting his over-the-top claims might be a deliberate attempt to appeal to his core supporters, who heavily dislike Biden.

Trump’s claims that Biden accepted profits from states such as China, Russia, and Ukraine, have added fuel to the political fire, with national partisan divisions already reaching all-time highs ahead of November’s elections. Trump, famed for his flamboyant style of speech, made a similar jibe back in 2022, stating that he would be sent to the electric chair if he was faced with the corruption allegations Biden and his son were.
